Dear Friend,
It is with great excitement that we invite you to join our efforts to develop The Natural Connection, the wellness center that has been created by the Huntingdon Health and Wellness Association (HHWA). HHWA purchased the historical building located at 313 Fourth Street in downtown Huntingdon. We are seeking funds, services and supplies to renovate it for health and wellness outreach and holistic health services (such as yoga, message therapy, and others).
Our Background Our nonprofit 501c3 is celebrating its sixth year. We strive to enhance the wellbeing of people in the community by cultivating experiences and partnerships that inspire, educate, and empower people to engage in a healthy lifestyle. Each year we host the Healthy Harvest Festival in downtown Huntingdon. It is one of our community services where we promote and provide holistic health education and resources.
Mission of the Wellness Center We have developed the Wellness Center with the intention of improving our ability to promote and provide alternative, complementary, and integrative health offerings from a centralized location. The rehabilitation of this building into the Wellness Center will benefit the community in these ways:
- Provide professional office space for health practitioners and wellness-oriented businesses and organizations, which would then offer their services or products to the public;
- Provide an activities room for yoga classes, functions and gatherings that support health and fitness in our community such as blood drives, workshops and seminars focused on health, music, dance, art, and more;
- Rejuvenate a building in our historic downtown area and provide jobs. Our services support the wellness of individuals and the revitalization of our town.
The new Wellness Center will be the common hub needed to better provide these services to our community members and visitors.
Services Available at the Wellness Center We currently offer Free Fridays, the last Friday of the month unless otherwise noted.
Topics have included: Green Cleaning Products, Autism, Yoga in Costume for Halloween, Community Supported Agriculture and much more! The new Wellness Center will have information available for visitors about complementary health options. A common library and a professional network will help facilitate this goal. Members of the facility committed to offer their health services include: massage therapists, yoga instructors, herbalists, vitamin and nutritional consultants, life coaching and more.
Donor Recognition and Appreciation We invite you to consider joining our donor family by contributing to our Wellness Center Fund. Donations will be used directly for renovations and purchase for the building. Donors will be recognized in a permanent location inside the Wellness Center and in publicity pertaining to the center.
How You Can Help Thank you in advance for your support. Please send your tax-deductible donation payable to “Huntingdon Health and Wellness Association” at 313 Fourth Street, Huntingdon, PA 16652, Attn: Jen Champion.
