On April 25, 2009, J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital Foundation and the Huntingdon Health and Wellness Association are sponsoring a Memorial Run in honor of Dr. David Miller. A one mile walk or run is also planned for the morning. Children will enjoy the Kid’s Fun Run which will include activities and event ribbons. The 5K road race begins at 9:00 a.m. on the track of War Vets Field, home of the Huntingdon Bearcat Football team. The route travels through the streets of Huntingdon, up to J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, through the Mayfest Festival route on Washington Street, and finishes back on the track at the football field. The one mile walk or run will begin on the track after the 5 K runners take off, and the Kids Fun Run will conclude the morning fitness events at the field.

The Dr. David Miller Memorial Run & Walk will kick off Mayfest 2009 in historic downtown Huntingdon. Dr. Miller was a family practice physician who died November 2, 2007, at the age of 62. He was an avid runner and a big fan of Huntingdon Bearcat athletics and the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins.
His family, friends and patients have organized this salute to his community spirit.

All proceeds raised from this event will benefit the Dr. David Miller Memorial Fund of the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital Foundation and the Huntingdon Health and Wellness Association
to further promote health and wellness in our community.
